How can you tell silk from burning?

By carefully burning a small piece of silk fabric, you should expect these 3 findings:

1. You will notice the smell of burnt hair or feathers.

2. The silk fabric will burn instead of melting.

3. The burning will stop gradually once the fire source is removed.
